The First form of SalesTax Consultants,Association Kerala (STCA) was formed at Ernakulam in 1992, The first State Convention was held at Kalamassery had decided to function the organisation at state level. The first state Convention elected Dr Bhaskaran as state President, K Narayanan Nair as General Secretary, R Vasudevan Nair as treasurer respectively. The first Convention decided to include 16 representative including 28 members to lead the organization. The registered organizations had its first meeting at Perumbavoor.Acoordingly committees were formed in all districts of Kerala and units were formed in relation with tax offices. The commmittee decided to replace Mr K. Narayanan Nair and hence elected Mr M.S.Narayanan as General Secretary.
Tax Consultants Association Kerala had its 2nd State conference at Kottayam in which Mr. K.A Bhaskaran was elected as the President and C.P Thomas elected as General Secretary. It was main agenda of second state conference to give membership to all Tax Consultants and also give protection to their job,When Kerala government's circular number 5/92 created difficulties in tax practice organisation conducted picketing in front of Secretariat and in front of all sales Tax offices in Kerala. The association gave a written complaint to the government so that the members can do the works without any interruption .
Tax Consultants Association Kerala 3rd State conference was held at Malapuram. The conference concluded by electing K.A Bhaskaran as the President and Mr C.P Thomas as General Secretary once again. The main agenda of the third state conference was to increase membership and to develop good relationship among the members. Under the leadership of V.T.V Raghavan ,C.P Thomas ,M.S. Keshavan conducted rally in the Nothern Side of Kerala .
Tax Consultants Association, Kerala 4th State conference was held at Kannur.Accordingly some separated district committee members returned to the mother organization . On the basis of 4th State conference Mr. V.T.V Raghavan was elected as the President and C.P Antony (Ernakulam) as General Secretary respectively. Later the association filed a petition in High court of Kerala against 5/92 circular .They received a favorable verdict from High court of Kerala.Under the request of association the Diploma in Sales Taxation(DST) course got approval from Center for Taxation Studies(CTS).
Tax Consultants Association, Kerala 5th state conference held at Palakkad elected V.T.V Raghavan as the President, C.P Antony as General Secretary.In consideration with his bad health condition the charge was handed over to K. Ravindran.
Tax Consultants Association, Kerala 6th State conference held at Calicut was one of the successfully state conference .It once again elected Mr V.T.V.Raghavan as the president.Mr K.Ravindran and Mr Suresh Kumar was elected as General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.The Calicut state conference was a milestone in the history of tax consultants association. The Calicut state conference showed real strength of the organization to the government, businessmen and public.In the Calicut state conference an 82 membered state Committee was formed including district president and secretaries from all districts.According to the budget the government implemented benefits of tax consultants as a result the membership increased.
Tax Consultants Association, Kerala 7th State conference was held on 2011 October 8th and 9th in Alappuza Municipal Town Hall. It started with flag hoisting by the honorable State President of Tax Consultants Association Kerala ,The state meeting was inaugurated by honorable acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court Mr C.N Ramakrishnan Nair.Dr Thomas Isaac ,the former Finance minister and former Co-operation Minister G Sudhakaran.,Income Tax Joint Commissioner R.Rajagoapal IRS,Indian Chartered Accountants member Babu Kalligalal gave speech at the inaugural function .Later on the senior tax consultants from Alapuzha district were felicitated and new id cards were issued. A rally was organized consequently and the public meeting was inaugrated by the Home Minister Mr Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan .In relation with public meeting there was G.S.T Study Class conducted by Mr Ramalingam, the faculty member of Gulathi institutes. The first day concluded with lot of entertainment programs and merry making. On Second day ,9th October representative meeting was inaugurated by respected member of Legislative Assembly Alappuzha A.M Arif . Totally it sounded good for the development of association . The association worked hard to get recognition for all its consultants and also avoided competition in work field and created sense of brotherhood among the members. The main aim of the association is to help aged and poor and also maintain social service. The association decided to strongly oppose the foreign investment in retail business. In Mullaperiyar issue the association decided to give its strong support to the protesters.
The association mainly focuses on labour issues and also seek solutions to their problems. The association worked harder to bring its members together under the organisation and also requested all its members to work for its wellbeing.
